| Sure,
I'm young. I'm
only a freshman in high school -- but I'm way mature for my age.
My obaasan -- my Japanese G-rent -- says I may be small like a
bird,
but that I can fly high when the cat tries to catch
me.
My mom
calls me chibi, which means "little one" in
Japanese.
She says I should be like, taking harder courses at school,
preparing for college aps. She treats me like a
little
kid, but she wants me to grow up. Is that
not
lame?

Dear
Diary,
Guess what I did on Homecoming night? I went to a rave!
.
Yeah,
I'm way serious. I never, thought anything cool would
happen
to me, but my 'rents were, like, worried 'bout me sneaking out with my
buds and goin' to the game (they won't let me do anything that
even
resembles cool), so I talked my sister (she's in her 2nd year at UCI )
into letting me hang with her at the dorm.
She went
ballistic
when I showed up, saying how I was gonna ruin her night and all, but I
told her if she didn't take me to the rave with her I'd tell Mom 'bout
that butterfly tattoo on her shoulder she covers up with makeup when
she
comes home to do her laundry.

| I
live in Fountain Valley
with my
Mom and Dad and my G-rent. My older sister lives at
college.
I guess I'll go to college someday, but I don't want to think
'bout
it now. I want to party on!
I love sports. I
just got one of those new long skateboards.
Totally
awesome! You can do unreal moves on it. I'd like to be a
pro-
skateboarder or snowboarder.
I
have black hair
and brown eyes. I work out a lot , hoping it'll
make me taller. But I'm okay with myself most of the
time,
though I'm not really into glam stuff yet.

My
sister is cool, and glam. She let
me borrow
her platform kicks and her green nail polish--but not her removable
silver
navel ring. She hogged that for herself.
Everybody at
the rave was sportin' hardware, flossin' and groovin' to the techno
beat.
The rave was held in a house way up in the canyon in Laguna Beach--you
had to push a code on the door panel to get in--it was cool and
misty
inside from a waterfall. I walked over a wooden bridge to
the
main house. When I got inside, someone whispered in my ear,
asking me if I wanted some Cherry X--
I was
scared--but I
wanted to be cool, so I took it. It wouldn't hurt to try
it just once... would it?
